Hi, my name is Jeromy O’Neal. I am a native Texan, a U.S. Army veteran, and the owner of The Ruff Ones. The Ruff Ones was started out of frustration with seeing the same old-style leash and collars that are offered in stores. I wanted to bring a fresh new look to collars and leashes. Although the traditional nylon leash and collars are practical, and get the job done. Over time, the nylon begins to absorb odor, and breaks down from oils. Constant wet/dry cycles can eventually cause cracks and then eventually break. So, this is where I wanted to take it a step further and protect the nylon with a polyester ripstop that has a polyurethane backing. Polyester does a great job of resisting odor, and polyurethane offers a water-resistant protective wrap around the nylon webbing. I wanted to offer other pet owners a new option just like I wanted.
